What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Romans 6:1-2
Its crazy thinking, but many people (including myself) like to, or have liked to walk as close to the line as possible without going over it. I mean, come on – doesn’t Romans 5 tell us “where sin increased, grace increased all the more?”
So why should I change? I believe in Jesus Christ, but what’s the big deal about me changing? Can’t I continue to live in sin? My sinful lifestyle will cause grace to increase, which may in turn lead others to Christ.
But, we need to keep reading God’s word. We can’t stop and rip a verse out of context. The “Bad News,” short & simple is, we are all sinners and deserve nothing but God’s wrath. However, God in His mercy showed us Grace by providing a way out of our sinful state through His Son Jesus Christ.
With that in mind then, “What shall we say? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” – Romans 6:1-2
We cannot go on sinning as Romans 6 states we were “buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4
