The knowledge of good and evil is really a split between wanting to do good, but ending up doing evil. That is truly what we know about ourselves, Paul tells his audience. That is the useful knowledge gleaned from eons of human history. Persons who have the law, whether in the Torah or in their hearts (again see Paul’s comments in Romans 2), embrace what they have with their minds..[BN,11]
