Don't Confuse Faith Promise with...

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:3-4

Faith Promise is not to be confused with:

  • A pledge. No one will remind you of the exact amount you owe on your Faith Promise giving.
  • The Tithe. Faith Promise is a love gift to God, to be given beyond the tithe.
  • A substitute for mission offerings. In addition to Faith Promise, other opportunities for giving to missions will be available throughout the year.
  • A cure-all for a church’s financial problems.

Is faith promise biblical?

Faith promise is giving by trusting in God’s covenants with us. Faith promise commitments (not pledges) are given systematically for global mission, rather than merely twice a year. Easter and Thanksgiving offerings are included in this giving plan. For faith promise, people pray about the amount they should give for global mission (beyond their tithe). They give biweekly, monthly, or a one-time gift.

Have you been praying about how God may use you in Faith Promise?
