You Have Been Set Free from Sin

But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. Romans 6:17-18

We are no longer slaves to sin. When we believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as our Savior we are saved from our old way of thinking, our old way of living. We have been Set FREE!

God puts His mark on our hearts through the “teaching entrusted” to us. Grace proclaimed through the good news leaves its mark on human hearts, and when this happens human beings turn from Sin to righteousness. Hearts which once wanted to follow the dictates of Sin by giving in to their own selfish desires, now have new desires imprinted by the good news! [BN, 7]
