"Religion relies on human judgments about the righteousness of persons. Those judgments lack the depth of insight found only in God who searches hearts and knows about persons what no one else can.
Moreover, Paul insists that the judgment he looks forward to includes the primary role of Jesus Christ in the judgment process. Persons who stand before God for judgment have the Lord Jesus Christ standing with them. God’s judgment of human beings always takes place through Jesus Christ. That is the good news intended to counter the bad news of flawed human judgments." [BN, 3]
