1 Thessalonians 5:19-22

Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.

From Background Notes [BN] for May 25th & 26th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Recognizing the voice of God may be a challenge for you. Don’t feel you are an exceptional case. Given a variety of difficult situations, we are all sometimes hard pressed to know that voice, and so are led back to some fundamental guidance found in the Bible…

…about how people can hear and know the voice of God. Our study this week examines a few biblical texts that touch on this topic. Together, let us prayerfully explore the ways God’s Spirit speaks to us clearly, even as we try to figure out what the word “speaks” actually means when used in this context. [BN, 1]

Join us this week in Study, Worship, Praise and Celebration at Chicago First Church of the Nazarene:

* Saturday 6:00pm
* Sunday 8:30am & 11:00am
