Luke 12:20

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

From Background Notes [BN] for January 19th & 20th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Several bits of wise counsel flow from the story in Luke 12:

1. Having and managing wealth requires care.
2. Covetousness is an ever-present temptation, and is idolatry.
3. Life is more than wealth.
4. We cannot predict what the future holds.
5. Over-confidence in what “I will” do is the source of real disaster.
6. Our wealth will not belong to us forever, for one day we will die.
7. Wealth should not be accumulated for ourselves but invested in God’s kingdom.  [BN, 8]
