From Background Notes [BN] for January 26th & 27th written by Pastor Bob Brown:
The instant society leads us to become a mindless society that is no
longer mindful of what we do, need to do, ought to do, and shouldn’t do. When
we succumb to the hustle of “now,”…
…our minds are less full of the nourishment they need. Taking time out helps us toward a mindful state of being. Too much speed and instant information harms health by keeping from mindfulness and encouraging mindless behavior. When we operate from a state of mindlessness, we lose something of our humanity. Fed on frantic noise, we lack sustenance for life. [BN, 2]
