Living the holy life requires a
healthy sense of awe at the purposes of God for us.
The holy life is nurtured by the “fear
of the Lord,” acknowledging our need of God in all that we do, in all that we
undertake. Peter summarizes this truth in 1:21 by reminding his readers that
reverence for God anchors their “faith in God,” especially when that reverence
is fastened to the hope that God raised Jesus from the dead. How awesome is that?!
