Acts 22:15

You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.

From Background Notes [BN] for May 3rd & 4th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Students of philosophy recognize the idea of intersubjectivity, the notion that truth is established by shared experience. The appearance of Jesus was shared in a decisive public manner, and the way the witnesses handed down the story preserved the collaborative nature of their testimony.

To say, as Luke does, that they were “servants of the word,” meant that they confined their statements about Jesus to the testimony they received. As Peter frames it, they refused “cleverly devised stories,” when they told of the “power and coming” (the appearing) of Jesus. “What did you see; what did you hear?” Jesus asks the messengers from John the Baptizer. “Keep your report to those things.” Peter and John reveal a certain compulsion for the truth when they challenge their critics, “Judge for yourselves…”  [BN,3]
