A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

We've chosen to end these Background Notes with a return to an ancient text from the Wisdom literature of the Hebrew Bible.

Taken from the last verses of the book of Proverbs, this Wisdom passage offers words of honor and affirmation for "the wife of noble character". She is an extraordinary woman, according to the Wiseman, as he paints her portrait with a rich palette of virtues. Without comment, we end our notes this week with its words: [BN,16]
