Philippians 1:20

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

From Background Notes [BN] for July 4th & 5th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Faith gains courage from the example of Jesus, and that is why reading the Gospels is such an important part of Christian growth and discipleship.

Faith gains courage by thoughtful meditation on the last week of Jesus’ life, paying attention to the way-stations he passed on his way to the cross. Faith gains courage by allowing the loss of Good Friday and the silence of Saturday to flow deeply into the recesses the heart. Faith gains courage by embracing the Easter joy of Sunday, not only one week out of the year, but every week — “where every Sunday is Easter.” [BN,7]

Join us this week in Worship, Praise and Celebration at C1:

* Saturday 6:00pm
* Sunday 9am & 10:30am
