Promise keepers are not just
a movement: they are a moral habit. God sets the gold standard for covenant fidelity
across the generations.
In the case of Israel, the promises
reached from Egypt to Canaan, from Babylon to Judah, and from exile to
restoration. Now God asks His own people who swear promissory oaths to be people
of their word — whose word is their bond, their covenant. Such fidelity is the
glue that holds the social fabric together. [BN,10]
