Psalm 24:1-2

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.

How’s your “tithing” going?  J

(Forewarning – this is written by a lay person (Nick) - don't blame the Pastors ;-)

In other words, are you giving at least 10% of your income back to God via His Church? That is what tithing requires.

Or, have you ever said, “all the Church ever wants is my money”?  Few responses to this:

1.     Per Psalm 24 – it is not your money… it’s God’s.  Stated another way, who gave you the intelligence to perform your work at such a high level?  Or, who gave you the inner drive / work ethic / determination to succeed?  Did you create all of this… your mind… your soul?

2.     How will the Church mission continue if the tangible resources (money included) are not provided by the laity?  In other words, the pastors need to focus on spreading the Gospel (Good News); however, they also need to provide for their family.  Should we expect them to go without while we continue living our normal lives filled with vacations and dinner events?  Or, should we expect them to work a full time gig to address their daily needs – and – take care of the mission work with equal success/focus?

3.     Are you aware that once you take on this challenge you immediately have purpose in life?  For example, that mundane job now becomes your “Mission from God”.  You may not need to get the band back together like Jake and Elwood, but, the more success you have at work, the more resources the Church can use to reach the lost.  Get the correlation?

Bottom line, the Bible has much to say beyond this regarding finances (for example, don’t get into debt… how helpful would that have been over the past 4 years?).  We therefore encourage you to join us at the Naz and engage in a study of Holy Scripture and God’s rules of money.

We additionally encourage you to worship Him among fellow believers who desire to reflect His love onto you and your family.
