…in Daniel 7:13-14 where the name refers to God’s agent of redemption who comes “with the clouds of heaven” and stands before God’s eternal throne where he receives ultimate power and authority to rule the world.

Written at a time when Israel was threatened by Gentile nations — particularly the cruelty of Antiochus IV, the phrase refers to the triumph of God’s people through their representative, this “Son of Man".[BN,8]
