"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

“Fiery passion and strong determination characterize the zealous person. Paul knew about other forms of zeal of which he did not approve, such as “zeal without knowledge” (Romans 10:2; from Proverbs 19:2).

In his own early Jewish journey, Paul had his own share of zeal that was expressed through “persecuting the church” (Philippians 3:6). As a Christian virtue, zeal is the earnestness to serve the Lord, always anchored in love.).[BN,12]
