Genesis 22:13-14

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

From Background Notes [BN] for July 23rd & 24th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

When God fulfilled His promise and gave a son to Abraham and Sarah under the most unbelievable circumstances, He set in motion a flow of events...

...that would one day lead to another Son through whom He would at last bless the whole world. Isaac was a type of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God. When we read the New Testament accounts of Jesus’ birth, we immediately hear the familiar themes of the Abraham-Sarah-Isaac story. Under wonderfully mysterious circumstances Jesus comes into the world and under painfully difficult circumstances Jesus dies on the cross. Even as God delivered Isaac from the dead, having first commanded his sacrifice by Abraham, so also God raised up Jesus from the dead, having first handed him over to die for our sins on the cross.
