Genesis 18:13

Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’

From Background Notes [BN] for July 23rd & 24th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Such laughter flows from one who delights in the prospect that his wife will be able to share in the promised blessing of a child.

While he certainly marvels at the unbelievable thought that a man one hundred years old will have a son, he is joyously bewildered that a woman who is ninety could be fertile soil for a child. Does Abraham also perhaps discern the special honor God endows on Sarah by giving her the new name which itself bears the name of Yahweh? In all of this God is taking Sarah as His princess so that she might bear the son of promise to both Abraham and Sarah. [BN,6]
