Ephesians 4:17

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

From Background Notes [BN] for Feb 27th & 28th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Long-standing habits are hard to break, and the habits of the "old nature" require the special work of God, first in the full surrender of our hearts to him, which inaugurates "sanctification", and then...

...the daily "walk in the Spirit", described by Paul in this: "Walk by the Spirit and will not fulfill the desires of the flesh (the old nature)" (Galatians 5:16). Just as we "live by the Spirit" (the start of our new life through the new birth), we must also "walk by the Spirit" (the formation and development of the new nature) (See Galatians 5:25). It is this fundamental change of orientation and life-style that Paul sees as essential to the emerging, healthy Christ community. [BN,3]
