Ephesians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

From Background Notes [BN] for Feb 13th & 14th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

What invites the blessing of God? What calls for worship in the church?

Paul writes of 1) election (1:4), 2) predestination (1:5), 3) redemption and forgiveness (1:7), revelation of the mystery (1:9), and becoming God's inheritance (1:11). One can almost imagine a procession of worshippers who start with Christ in heaven, before his arrival on earth, and climaxing with the whole assembly celebrating as the inheritance, the precious possession of God as they appear in the future. Here is a telescopic picture of our salvation, laid out in such a way as to attract the audience to join in with Paul's blessing, and to acknowledge that the blessings are for them, as well as for him. We might generalize here: the church’s worship flows from a rehearsal of the mighty deeds of God in Christ on behalf of His people. [BN,7]
