1 Timothy 6:17

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

From Background Notes [BN] for Nov 7th & 8th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Many of us find it easier to let God into our hearts than into our wallets.

We are more willing to have our debts forgiven than our sins. The problem with greed is not that ultimately our wealth goes, but that we go. Near the end of his life, the apostle Paul counseled his young protégé Timothy about the sort of world that he would soon face. In the first letter bearing Timothy’s name, the aging apostle provided this advice through the words of a faithful. [BN,9]
