Ephesians 4:22-23

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds

From Background Notes [BN] for Aug 2nd & 3rd written by Pastor Bob Brown:

We opt for "life-style,” while other translations choose "way of life.” The Greek's most basic idea is "to turn upside, turn around, overthrow,” but the word developed other senses: "to behave, to conduct,” and Paul favors them...

...Combined with "old man,” above, this yields "the old person of former ways.” Nature and conduct are inseparable, insofar as the latter reveals the former. Someone might attempt a rationalization by saying "But this is not the real me! I'm different on the inside." Paul would scarcely recognize that line of reasoning, since we "wear of nature" in our "garments of conduct.”  [BN, 6]
