Ezekiel 18:23

Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?

From Background Notes [BN] for April 13th & 14thwritten by Pastor Bob Brown:

The famous mathematician, Blaise Pascal, argued in his essay for what some philosophers call “The Decision Matrix,” known as Pascal’s Wager. Pascal said that all of us are finite human beings.

God is infinite, and the two possible futures defined by His existence are likewise infinite, either heaven or hell. Should we refuse God, we wager the finite against infinite, with the possibility of infinite loss; earth against heaven, and the possibility of eternal separation from God. Should we accept God, we wager the finite for the infinite, with the possibility of eternal life.[BN, 8]
