From Background Notes [BN] for July 21st & 22nd
written by Pastor Bob Brown:
The idea that God will give to Jesus what he asks literally saturates the Gospel of John. One especially clear passage is John 3:34 where we read, "For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand." Jesus, when talking to the Samaritan woman, referred to eternal life as "the gift of God" (4:10). Moreover there is an extensive list of other "gifts" from the Father to the Son:
a. The Father has given all judgment
to the Son (5:22).
b. The Father has given the Son
"life in himself" (5:26).
c. The Father has given the Son
authority to execute judgment (5:27).
d. The Father has given Jesus
"works to accomplish" (5:36; 17:4).
e. The Father gives followers to Jesus
(6:37, 39, 65; 10:29; 17:6, 9, 11; 18:9).
f. The Father gives Jesus the
commandment of what to speak (12:49).
g. The Father has given all things
into Jesus' hand (13:3).
h. The Father will give the disciples
the Holy Spirit in response to Jesus' request (14:16).
i. Whatever the disciples ask the
Father in Jesus' name, He will give (15:16; 16:23).
j. The Father has given Jesus
authority over all human beings (17:2).
k. The disciples know that everything
the Father has given Jesus is from the Father (17:7).
l. The Father has given Jesus the
words he, in turn, is to give to the disciples (17:8).
m. The Father has given Jesus His name
(17:12).
n. The Father has given Jesus His
glory (17:22, 14).
o. The Father has given Jesus the cup
of suffering (18:11). [BN, 5]
