2 Chronicles 26:1

Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in place of his father Amaziah.

From Background Notes [BN] for June 11th & 12th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Uzziah’s pride led to his downfall. He entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

The High Priest confronted him for his arrogance: "It is not right for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD. That is for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who have been consecrated to burn incense" (2 Chronicles 26:18). Then, according to Josephus the historian, a great earthquake shook the ground and a rent was made in the temple, and the bright rays of the sun shone through it, and fell upon the king's face, and he became a leper. (Josephus Flavius, Antiquities IX 10:4). His leprosy drove him from the Temple and forced him to live in "a separate house," in isolation, until his death (2 Kings 15:5, 27; 2 Chronicles 26:3). The government was turned over to his son Jotham. [BN,1]
