Numbers 13:31

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”

From Background Notes [BN] for Jan 16th & 17th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

“In the providence of God, the tragic failures of one generation can be retrieved in the experiences of the next. The purpose of God cannot ultimately be defeated.”

For the truth of that statement to materialize in our lives, we need a new kind of vision, one that looks in the right direction, for the right reason, and at the right person. Israel was thorough at seeing the land through the eyes of the scout. And yet it is not enough to see if vision isn’t accompanied by the context of perspective and of values. Yes, we see the land, but do we know what that means, what might be its significance for us? [BN,11]
