John 3:4

“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

From Background Notes [BN] for Sept 26th & 27th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Elbert Hubbard wrote, “If your religion does not change you, then you should change your religion.”

Sigmund Freud believed that no one could ever overcome their childhood. The best you could do was try to make the best of what your parents did to you. Jesus tells Nicodemus that God's love, expressed through his being lifted up on the cross, is the supreme answer to that haunting question, "How can these things be?" And it is the only hope for genuine change in our lives. [BN,17]
