Jeremiah 29:10-11

This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

From Background Notes [BN] for September 8th & 9th  written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Exile, then, would not be a quick affair, nor would things get back to normal right away. False prophets, such as Hananiah, promised a swift resolution of the crisis in Jeremiah 28, to which Jeremiah offered his firm negative reply.

The people of God would require a long sustained effort to work through the reasons for the crisis while living within the boundaries of the Babylonian Empire. [BN, 3]
