Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.

Giving cold water in Jesus’ name to a person in need, sets in motion the events that can lead to my neighbor becoming a disciple of Jesus.

Whenever we perform authentic acts of kindness for other people, we do the same for Jesus (Matthew 25:40). May the Holy Spirit give the church discernment as it decide what the cup of cold water means for our newcomers. [BN,14]
