Daniel 7:14

He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

From Background Notes [BN] for Dec 6th & 7th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

We have similar language in the New Testament account of Jesus' baptism when the heavenly voice is heard, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased…"

(Matthew 3:17; Mark 1:11; Luke 3:22), a proclamation also repeated when Jesus is on the mount of transfiguration (Matthew 17:5; Mark 9:7) and to which are added the words "listen to him". God, by declaring Jesus His Son in this way, places the "authority" squarely on his shoulders as His King, much as we saw in Psalm 2, "You are my Son…" as part of the enthronement ritual of Israel's kings. Jesus does not take on Himself the honor of kingship, but submits to His Father's will and purpose, even as he enters the waters of baptism "to fulfill all righteousness" (Matthew 3:15). Throughout his public ministry, the words and actions of Jesus were repeatedly characterized as performed "with authority"  [BN,6]
