John 12:29-30

The crowd standing there heard it and said that it was thunder. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”  Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not for mine.

From Background Notes [BN] for March 22nd & 23rd written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Ancient Scripture arose in the community of Israel in order to bear faithful witness to the voice of God. We wouldn’t be studying the Bible if that weren’t the case. Yahweh authorized the writing of Scripture, even as He authorized the coming of His Son as Jesus of Nazareth.

By placing interpretive judgment in the hands of Jesus, the Father made him the authorized teacher of Torah for the people of God. “I have not come to abolish … but fulfill … law and prophets,” Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:17). We are not left on our own when grappling the meaning of God’s voice in nature or in Scripture. We have Jesus, who explains our mission in light of sacrifice on the road to glory. [BN, 8 ]
