From Background Notes
[BN] for December 8th & 9th written by Pastor Bob
Brown:
Jesus, as the Word-become-flesh, has a
unique relationship to God: He is the Son “at the Father’s side.”
He occupies a special place and a special connection with God as his father. And so, when the Word becomes flesh and takes on human identity as Jesus of Nazareth, he is lifting the curtain on the deepest, most intimate nature of God, allowing that nature to appear for us to see in a way heretofore not known to human beings. In his own person, Jesus the Son embodies God the Father, making that God accessible to us.[BN, 2]
