Acts 13:2-3

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.

From Background Notes [BN] for June 23rd & 24th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

This parallels Abraham's leaving his father's household for the appointed place where he would eventually go and begin his long-term task of being a light to the nations.

Ironically, Saul had been a "Pharisee," a word which implied "separation" from the pagan world and from unholy things within Israel. None of those expectations truly fulfilled Saul until he met the risen Jesus, and in the present case, now that the Holy Spirit has commissioned him, he is truly set apart.[BN, 3]
