Luke24:25

He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

Flooded with darkness, their hearts could neither understand, nor feel, nor respond to the risen Jesus who walked with them in his newly resurrected body.

Both disciples required the sort of heart treatment only Jesus could give them through a powerful witness to the fulfillment of Scripture in himself. By the time that day ended, they were able to make full confession of the change that took place in their hearts. [BN,2]
