Externals are shallow and misleading when it comes to matters of power. Power is easily abused, and kings quickly start believing their own press releases! As long as kings in Israel lived hear-to-heart with Yahweh, the true king, they proved faithful servants of God’s kingdom and reliable rulers of His people. [BN,1]
