The giant facing David nearly killed him, but the fierce power of God’s covenantal love was mightier than the arc of David’s sling or the cunning of his shepherd’s skill.

He whom God called the “man after my own heart” prevailed despite the risky waters of royal politics through the prophetic boldness of Nathan’s words. His example was for a nation and for us, a wonder both epic and efficacious. [BN,15]
