Luke 24:15-16

As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.

Encountering Jesus on the road and at the table is a perennial experience of the Christian community. It is appropriate during Eastertide to recall the surprising encounter of Jesus with the Emmaus disciples...



...for from their experience we recognize the need to deepen our understanding of the risen Jesus. He encourages us with his words. He meets us in the sacrament. These are healthful means of grace, given by God for the edifying of His people everywhere. [BN,2]
