Matthew 2:9

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.

From Background Notes [BN] for Dec 5th & 6th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Gift-giving should look different in the hands of Christian people. It’s not about trendiness or keeping track of what other’s give to us.

Instead the treasure of our hearts is the God-given capacity to release resources for life to persons who struggle in a world of death and loss. Our best gifts come from this storehouse. Better than the finest clothes or the most current trinkets or the costliest gadgets. To give in the manner God gives and with the abundance He provides, we must simply open our hearts, first to Him and receive from Him the indescribable gift of Jesus. Then, like the Magi, we are able to open our hearts to others and watch while God releases His supply. [BN,13]
