1 Corinthians 15:3

If there is to be continuity beyond death, persons must be in covenant with God through Jesus Christ the risen one, and so after death they will rise even as Jesus did.



The roots for resurrection belief run deep in Jewish thought where biblical texts like the opening of Daniel 12, for example, promise an awakening from the dust, either for eternal life or eternal death. This resurrection “at the end of days” emerged as the hope for Israel, even to the point of announcing resurrection life for the whole nation. [BN,1]
