1 Corinthians 15:56-57

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

From Background Notes [BN] for April 4th & 5th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

Is Easter simply about surviving death as an immortal soul gone to heaven? Did Jesus come in order that we might be reminded that there is life after death?

What we propose in this week’s study is that the drama of life and death, along with the human quest for permanence, means more than either 1) souls without bodies going to heaven (or elsewhere), or 2) the resuscitation of a corpse. If we are not careful in stating all of this, we might end up having a view of life after death that looks no different than that of our ancient ancestors. What we propose in this study is not merely “life after death,” but, as some have suggested, “life after life after death.” [BN,2]

Join us this week in Study, Worship, Praise and Celebration at Chicago First Church of the Nazarene:
