2 Timothy 2:8

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel

From Background Notes [BN] for Oct 11th & 12th written by Pastor Bob Brown:

The heart of the Gospel is the hopeful promise of new life. Not just an ethereal existence beyond this world, but the real possibility of new creation within this world. Hard to imagine this world as a transformed, renewed place of well-being. That’s what the resurrection of Jesus Christ makes possible.

Heavy responsibility on our shoulders: endure everything, die with Jesus. When these things come, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead.” Resist the temptation to deny him or be faithless. When such failings overshadow us, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead.” Greater challenge: not to get sucked into hairsplitting theological debates: “quarrel about words.” When this slippery slope begins, “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead!” [BN,3]

Join us this week in Study, Worship, Praise and Celebration at Chicago First Church of the Nazarene:
