We are Not Faithful

As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Romans 3:10-12

Don't tell me everyone of them are bad! I was on the 5th apple out of the bag and all of them were rotten on the inside. It wouldn't have been so bad, but from the outside they looked so delicious. I took a bite and immediately knew something wasn't right. So, with knife in hand, I was cutting open the rest of the apples to see if the whole bag was rotten. After the 5th one it was beginning to look like all of them were no good.

Today's verse points out a universal fact about our "Sin Condition" - There is no one Righteous...All have turned away...there is no one who does good.

Pretty gloom & doom stuff. Just when you're thinking all is well as far as the law is concerned - you find out that things are not what they seem. The law doesn't save - Romans 3:20 tells us that no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law.

You know I was losing faith with the apples in the bag. It wasn't looking good. Very similar to our sin condition, didn't look very good with no one righteous and the law wasn't going to save us.

But, you know what there's hope! The law makes us aware of our sin condition, which makes us realize we need a Savior. Faith in Jesus Christ, that's what saves us and through Him we are made righteous in God's sight.

I eventually made it to the end of the bag and found an apple that wasn't rotten. I cut it open and nothing but juicy, white apple appeared. It was delicious and satisfying. The Bible tells us to taste and see that the Lord is Good. Psalm 34:8
