From Background Notes [BN] for Oct 4th &
5th written by Pastor Bob Brown:
But the great drama signaled by
Joseph's life does not end. God, Israel's true hero, waits patiently for the
next amazing act, which would unfold at a time when...
... "there arose a new king over
Egypt, who did not know Joseph" (Exodus 1:8). That's the plain fact
about human heroes: they are quickly forgotten, as Joseph would be by the royal
court of Pharaoh. But God would not forget, nor would any one of his good
promises to Joseph fail. And so it is with us. The life of Joseph is dedicated
to his Hero, the God who was with him.
Glory to God! Amen. [BN,10]
