To become a Christian means receiving a vocation, not in the professional sense but in a confessional one. The word vocation has historically been associated with sacred roles within the Church, and yet the wider usage refers to what we commonly describe as “the call” to follow Jesus.

At the heart of the call is the commitment to pursue an obedience that leads to bearing the likeness of God as human beings within the world.  [BN,1]
